[news.eclipse.tools] Project Location Cannot Overlap?

Hello Eclipsers,
Somewhere deep down in the docs I remember somethig about "Eclipse dpoes
not allow project locations to overlap". Does this mean that it is not
possible to have "sub-projects" that only cover parts of a larger
project?

For instance, in my current IDE I frquently create a sub-project to test
out new ideas. The subproject includes parts of the full project plus
new files tbat may eventually make into the full project. Now, since
Java dictates to us where to stor our files, obviously this meand that
the full project and subproject locations _must_ overlap, unless I copy
the parts to an entire new directory. And I don't want to copy, since
changes made for the full project should also influence the subproject,
and remebering when and what to copy ...
