No, the Java IDE is intended for production use. In fact, the Eclipse team is
using Eclipse to develop Eclipse. For example, the Java Tooling is used for
developing all Java code. VCM/CVS support is used for version
and configuration management. PDE is used for plugin development.
ANT support is used by the teams for deploy and test, etc.
In other words "we are eating our own dog food"
Having said this doesn't mean that we are not interested in feedback
on missing features compared to competitive products. This forum is a
good platform to provide such feedback.
