This may be how you work with Word but is not necessarily how other people
work.  Personally, I keep things open (but perhaps minimized) for a long
time).  Who knows when you are "really done" with something.  This is
especially true if the startup time is at all noticable.

If you look at peoples desktops (either physical or computer screen) you
will find many different personal organization and work styles. If you
design your interfaces around a single such style you will seriouly hurt
the usability for everyone who doesn't match that style.  Unfortunately,
up to this point I see a lot of this in Eclipse.
