[news.eclipse.tools.jdt] managing source directories from a plugin

I want to build a plugin that contains a view with controls that 
correspond to details that are specific to a particular project.  One of 
the things this plugin needs to do is manipulate the project's source 
path behind the scenes.  I do not want the developer to have to manage 
the source paths through the normal project properties.  I want the 
developer to be able to manipulate the source path using my custom view.

Can anyone point me in a direction in terms of the plugin API that will 
show me how to add/remove items from a project's source path?
