[news.eclipse.tools.jdt] Package Explorer Not Marking Files With Compila

I just installed Eclipse on a new computer and migrated all my old
files over (which may or may not be relevant here).

Normally, when a file has a compilation error, a red "X" appears over
the file icon in the package explorer, over the icon in the files tab
(if you are editing it) and next to the line in the file itself where
the error occurs.

I'm still getting the mark next to the faulty line, but no "X" next to
the file icons.  How can I get it back?
