This should work most of the time. Are you sure you copied all the 
plugin folders as well as any "features" folders? Some plugins use more 
that one folder.

On machines with internet access, most of the time I do not bother and 
just install the latest version from the internet. I never save any 
applications either by the way, internet is a great backup device for 
such needs.
