[news.eclipse.tools.hyades] Re: Simple profiler needed
|
I gave up after a couple hours of fiddling with it. Installation and
configuration is too complex. I never did get it working -- the plugins
never showed up on the Eclipse menus. After I deleted everything, it
occurred to me that I probably should have gone into Customize Perspective
to make things visible.
You should really think about adding an installer, and about fully
integrating the RAServer so it doesn't have to be launched separately. Other
profilers do this.
Also, the introductory documentation on what Hyades is is way too vague.
"Hyades is an open source project that is establishing a technology
framework. Hyades has been formed to embrace the full development and
deployment life cycle of projects with a framework of shared common
components that will be used to build testing and trace offerings." What the
heck does that mean? Tell me what it actually does.
Also, the FAQ is phony -- nobody ever asked most of those questions. I'd go
through the newsgroup to see what people are really asking.
Sorry... Just though you'd like some honest feedback.
