Hi steve,
I had same problem with Jonas. This error may have different cause.
Fisrt look at RAServer's log.
Check that Jboss is started with the correct JBOSS_HOME specified in
your RAServer config file.
Check you have the jmx plugin in the RAServer plugin's directory.
