Hyades Project Team Meeting (Conference call)
5th May 2003
Attendees: Harm Sluiman ? IBM

Development Team Reports
Overall
- Trying to close off the 1.0 Hyades release
- Some bug fixes happening in the logging components, more options have
been added to the rack allowing re-branding by different vendors.
Model
- The trace part of the trace model is being worked on and is hoped will
be in the code drop this week
- There is a footprint issue that is being looked into currently
- A few changes have been made to the test model, with regard to the user
interface. The java docs are not ready for this as yet, so it?s likely
that this will be included into next week?s drop.
UI
- The group are working on dropping views into the existing extension
points, with regard to profiling, stats and execution flow.
- Some of the work is dependent on the façade work
Execution
- There was an issue with last week?s drop from this group. Kent is
looking into this
- Kris is going on vacation for 3 weeks, and there has not been a
high-level of overlap between the person who will fill in for Kris on his
work in this group. This will be monitored.
- There are a few more changes to be made to the execution group?s work,
plus the item missing from last week?s drop to be included this week.
Current Releases
Feedback
- Some feedback on the newsgroups.
- Ham receiving some questions, especially with regard to processes.
- ACTION ? Harm to create a presentation describing processes, which will
be made available on the website.
Administrative issues
Project Membership
- Mike will propose a new membership structure for the project to current
members, soliciting feedback on the proposal which in summary would be
labelled in the following way:
1. Founder
2. Member
3. Associate
- Levels 1 and 2 would be involved in the management of the project,
including being invited to this call. At these levels, it is expected that
the companies involved are also Eclipse members
- Levels 1 and 2 are similar, differing only in their contribution levels
- Level 3 would not be involved in the project management, and would not
be required to be Eclipse members
- Reflection of the Eclipse structure - the Consortium of companies and
Open Source groups
- Point made that this structure could encourage members to specify more
clearly their commitment to contribution
- ACTION ? Mike to circulate proposal for review at vendor ?leader? level
for discussion and resolution at next call
Marcomms
PR
- Positive feedback from journalists on the Hyades release
- Some team members would like to see the clippings from the publications,
and so a new ?Hyades-PR? list will be created to which individuals can
subscribe to read the clippings
- ACTION ? Melanie to feed the Hyades clippings and the marketing
committee minutes to this list.
