[news.eclipse.tools.hyades] Re: Model workgroup meeting Feb 14 and 19 2003
|
Here is a summary of our Feb 14 and 19.
Attending
Scapa:
Michael Norman
Rational:
Kim Coleman, Joe Toomey, Kent Siefkes, Victor Haven, Julien Caches,
ParaSoft:
Gary Brunell, Matt Love
IBM:
Valentina Popescu, Richard Duggan, Kris Kobylinski, Marcelo Paternostro,
Harm Sluiman
The purpose of the call was to level set on a wide spectrum of terminology
being used, as well as to begin subsetting the model work into domains
that could be dealt with in parallel.
Terminology:
Because one of the key models we are working with is a realization of the
UML2 Test Profile, an understanding of both these model domains is key.
Rather than try to cover it all in this summary we agreed to include a
mapping and explanation in the model documentation.
The first segment of which will be published within a week.
We mapped, events, operations, methods, classes, stimulus, test case, life
line, behavior.
Subsetting:
After great discussion, we concluded that we could separate out the
"behavioral" model, which is the key piece of the model that is common
between trace and test.
The sub groups have been defined as follows:
Test - A mapping of the test profile covering definition and structure
Trace - The representation of application execution, for example call
stackand heap
Behavior - The definition of method implementation
Statistical - The generic reflection of structural data
##Data - Instance level information as used in data pools and parameter
tracing
##Scheduling/Configuration - The description of resource configuration,
from machines to execution environments and test configurations.
## have been to deferred to second priority
The volunteers for each group are were gathered Feb 19 and each has begun
on Feb 19 in parallel. The members are as follows and facilitates are
marked with **. Each group has been challenged to get a first pass of a well
documented thread through their model ready to publish before the end of
February.
All models will be published as an HTML document for the site, plus Rational
Rose mdl and cat files in CVS that can be used to feed EMF.
Test - Mike, Gary, Kent, Joe**, Marcelo
Trace - Neil, Allan**, Harm
Behaviour - Stafen, Julien, Joe, Harm**
Statistical - Richard**, Kim, Dave Chadwick
##Data - TBD
