Administrative issues

Project Membership

·        Telelogic and Parasoft

·        ACTION – Harm – Actively re-engage Telelogic and Parasoft in discussions

·        ACTION – Mike – email Skip to obtain replacement Telelogic steward’s name

·        Another Eclipse member is interested in becoming involved in the project, and individuals from require some briefing calls to help them get started.

·        Involvement with Hyades viewed positively

·        Agreement from all to participate in these calls.

·        ACTION – Mike, Harm & Joe - Briefing calls to be scheduled.

·        ACTION – Harm to take an overview internally within IBM

·        Fokus

·        Given the clarity emerging on the Hyades U2TP model relationship now would be a good time to get Fokus involved

·        ACTION – Mike to liase with Eclipse chair over Fokus Associate Membership to help provide another Hyades voice at Eclipse board level.

·        ACTION – Mike – to email Fokus representative to invite them to join

·        Various discussions continue with other Eclipse non-members.

OMG Interface

·        Reported that both Serge and Clay are attending the Telelogic event this week. Clay is keen to promote the mapping to the Eclipse Hyades project there.

Electronic Access Issues

·        No email on group-related threads recently created by Mike. Need to promote the use of these, and push information out from Hyades-team

·        email list. Noted that the Hyades-team emails are being archived from today (10th February 2003).

·        A number of sensitivities still exist in the implications of features of the model for the product strategies of vendors.  These need to be cleared up ASAP so as to allow publication.

·        ACTION – Joe to raise this point with Sam and Dan.

·        ACTION – Harm to manage these issues to a conclusion inside IBM.

Current Releases

·        The upcoming release of the trace model is dependent on transition issues being resolved as it is merged into a test model based around U2TP. A decision has been taken not to distribute a tactical driver at this stage.

Marcomms

·        -      Roadshow idea proposed by Harm to take the Hyades project out to other prospective project members.

·        Additional material required from current project members.

·        Core groups should be able to produce c. 5 page white papers, broadly covering their area of work. Suggestions for model white papers included:

·        Why we’re using modeling?

·        Why we’re doing this in UML?

·        Why we’re doing this in EMF?

·        -      ACTION – subject area leaders to insert proposal of white paper(s) into their Plan documents, and provide an appropriate timeline for delivery of these.

·        Continuity press release required.

·        ACTION – ALL – to provide ideas for this press release at next meeting.

·        Issue of dealing with media interest as quickly as possible, before this fades. Mike currently receiving all requests. Proposed that Barbara Price should also receive these requests to help try to catch those from US-based media companies.

·        -     Noted that Eclipse Hyades website comes out top on Google search for ‘Hyades’.
