The following code in the article :

getGraphicalViewer().addDropTargetListener(
       new FileTransferDropTargetListener(getGraphicalViewer()));should be 
replaced with:

 getGraphicalViewer().addDropTargetListener(
       new 
FileTransferDropTargetListener(getGraphicalViewer(),FileTransfer.getInstance()));
