[news.eclipse.tools.cdt] static lib project in eclipse

hi,

i'm working with C++ eclipse under Ubuntu. i'd like to create a static lib 
project that uses other libs. i don't see an option to do it in eclipse 
(the linker settings options are non existent in a lib project). the other 
option is to convert an executable project to a static lib project. if 
anyone has any idea how to do one or the other, i'd be very thankful.
