The only real way to help is to fix it yourself and submit a patch. Even then, CDT 5 is pretty much a dead branch so you may have to build yourself a custom CDT for your work.

Why marking a defect "blocker" isn't getting any response is a long story deep in the culture and structure of Eclipse. But unless you're a paying customer of a CDT vendor, be careful not to expect these to get fixed any faster than not marking them blocker.

Sorry, not welcome news, and I'm not happy about it either, but I'm just telling like it is.
