[news.eclipse.tools.cdt] Borland compiler?

Is there any accepted set of settings for using the borland c++
compiler in the CDT? I'm new to C++ (don't really even study it in
school til next year) and i want to get up and running w/o shelling out
for overblown IDEs that don't teach me anything about the nuts and
bolts. Can someone offer me some tips for doing so in Eclipse? I have
BCC installed, and the Cygwin environment, but my system is defaulting
to using the BCC compiler at the moment. I'd like to move that over to
gcc, but i'd also like to know how to work with the pure windows
compiler.

Tips, tricks, truths, and teaching are welcome, of course ;)

Thanks.
