[news.eclipse.technology] adding to tasks

I am trying to create a custom editor plugin that needs to add entries to
the Tasks list (with Description, Resouce, Folder, Location etc.). Where can
I find documentation that describes how one goes about doing that? Pointers
to some examples will also help.
