[news.eclipse.technology.wsvt] Summary of EclipseCON demos and BoF

Hi everyone,

The 2 demos of WSVT at EclipseCON went over really well. Roughly 20 people
came out to see what WSVT currently has to offer and help direct what the
project will offer in the future.

Some great suggestions were brought up at the demos and the BoF. Here's a
short list.
- Validate SOAP traffic on the fly - as it comes in.
- Along the same path, validation of each message request/response pair on
it's own.
- You should be able to direct link to type definitions from SOAP message.
- There should be a way to view the request/response payload without
viewing the SOAP envelope.
- There should be one-click/automatic/even-simpler validation - specify
the WSDL up front (possibly select it automatically and prompt if not
available) and move away from the validation wizard.,
- There should be support for multiple monitors running at the same time.
- Should be able to view errors and warnings on messages in monitor
- Breakpoints on operations (this can only be available if the WSDL has
been specified) would be useful, possibly break on any element (port,
binding, message, etc.)
  - It would be great if the SOAP monitor could break and then redirect to
the running Java code. That is, SOAP debugger, Java debugger integration
for testing your services.

Thanks to everyone that came out for a demo and contributed their ideas.
For those that couldn't make it, please keep your ideas coming here. And,
as always, we're excited to find people that want to contribute to the
project. There is lots of work to be done. Please let us know if you're
interested!
