And in the end the download stats of those 'interesting packages' would be
another input source of what people want. That's very worthfull information
to adjust and to change the EPP package content accordingly.

But if we are going to provide such a page, we have to ensure that it
scales. How do you find the best available package, if there are a few
hundreds of them? How do we distribute this huge amount of data?

I expect that many of this kind of questions need to be solved, but it
definitely is worth the effort. Maybe in cooperation with Bjorn's plan of a
standard project download page?
