Hi Robert,
A CCD document is still a conformant CDA document -- just with additional constraints. If one would want to distinguish between the two in an XDS environment, they'd use a format code. So far IHE has not exactly done so for CDA and CCD. They do have format codes for much of the PCC content profiles -- most of which are constrained forms of CDA.
