[news.eclipse.technology.ofmp] Re: OFMP demos

What I found funny is, that the (EUR) column always remains 0.
Is that a bug or a feature?
It's because of missing quotes in the system at the time I captured the demo, but it works trust me ;)

While not designed for each and every variation and correction of a currency deal, there's another nice example I am going to release on TSS Symposium Europe in Prague next month.
It deals with stock trading and fetches quotes online via services like Yahoo or other providers. Same for Currency Exchange rates.

A (EUR) or (USD) column also shows all trades in the base currency used by the Web Service (normally US$, at least for Yahoo based on NYSE) but one can also define other base currencies for different markets.
The currency of the user is determined by his home country/market.
Good stuff. Webservice to fetch dynamics data like quotes, rates, curves etc is indeed a requirement for OFMP too, but in financial markets departement they more often use Reuters or Bloomberg platforms as source for these data.

How about somewhat generic Currency and Monetary objects ?;-)

In a recent discussion I had with one of my fellow EG members at JSR-275 he confirmed, that was a very good and useful feature he remembers implementing over and over again (and not just he ;-)

I hope upcoming projects won't keep me from TSS session in Prague, but regardless of public showcasing it, this has been implemented all year.
I also got it at QCon, but the JCP discussion there was more organisational, so it did not fit individual JSR demos.

I understand, some of your committers from Wilczeck & Weigle are based in Germany. I am currently in Niedersachsen, not too far from there, but normally I don't get that far South in the country...
