This feature can be disabled via: Window > Preferences > Mylar > Context 
> Manage open editors...

With this enabled, closing will cause files to be come less interesting 
but the benefit is that Mylar will manager (close) uninteresting editors 
for you so you don't ever HAVE to close editors (also saves on memory).

That said, every now and then I find myself wanting a 'clean slate' and 
feel the urge to close an editor so perhaps we need to revisit this 
functionality (perhaps it shouldn't be enabled by default).
