While we have never come across such a case, the first place to check is 
the Preferences -> General -> Appearance -> Colors and Fonts page to 
make sure that the Tasks colors are set as you expect them.

If that still doesn't work make a task over due, then check your Error 
Log view to see if any exception occurred and file a bug so that we can 
diagnose the cause.
