[news.eclipse.technology.memory-analyzer] Re: How can I get the snapshot window after opening heap dump?

Hi Andrew,

this is a really very old presentation. We have changed since then... :-) but the basic building blocks should still be there.

I have version Version: 0.7.100 of Eclipse Memory Analyzer and when I open my heap dump I do not have the option to select the Snapshot window.

"Snapshot window" you mean the window on the left side displaying total size, number of objects etc? You should be able to open this window via "View" -> "Snapshot Details".

If the window does not open, try deleting the "workspace" folder from the "mat" directory (it stores the last window layout and this way you start anew).

Other options have moved to the "Queries" drop-down menu in the tool bar (over time, more and more queries were written). It's the one with the blue cylinders.

Let me know what you are missing specifically. Then I can help better.

Andreas.
