[news.eclipse.technology.ldt] update on BEA plans

BEA originally proposed the LDT project as a staging ground for various 
language-related activities in Eclipse intended to support our WebLogic 
Workshop product line. The two primary activities

 * Support for annotation-based tools in JDT (the "apt" project) and
 * XML Schema project model / automated binding generation

are both being pursued directly with the relevant project teams (JDT and 
WTP/SSE).

While there are still many compelling areas for improved language services 
within Eclipse, the BEA-sponsored proposal per se is no longer necessary. 
The EMO will be providing a new forum for language-based discussions and 
will be organizing additional activities to help coordinate research and 
development in this area.

I'd like to thank everyone who contributed to the discussions on this 
newsgroup, and assure you that BEA remains committed to enhanced language 
services in Eclipse, with an increased focus on evolutionary "in-stream" 
development.
