Jeff thanks for answering (correctly). It is very nice to have such an 
active community.

I have added a workaround to the JSR220-ORM code to open the view before 
the dialog. I should have done this ages ago, but thought RDB would fix 
this quickly.  The fix is in cvs and will be in the next build.
