[news.eclipse.technology.gmt.amw] Re: Building AMW from sources?

Hi,

thanks for the quick reply. The problems I'm experiencing are all at the initial steps of coming to a weaving model.

At step 1/3 of the weaver wizard I get a "KM3 file not found" error message when trying to load the metamodel extension, although the KM3 file is really there. There's a printscreen in attachment. This I can circumvent by coping the km3 file in the project workspace, which seems to work. But then at step 3/3, after picking a left and right model and hitting "Finish", I get another error message "Error to write metadata properties filenull".

If I had to guess, it seems to be down to EMF malfunctioning or a versioning mismatch. ATL and EMF (UML2 plugin) in the same Eclipse configuration work fine though. I've tried a number of different versions, and the ones I'm using now are:

Eclipse 3.1.0 GTK
EMF 2.1.0 runtime
ATL 20060630 for Eclipse 3.1, with antlr.jar and mdr jars where they're supposed to be
AMW 20060717

Does anyone have any clue about what's wrong?

Thanks,
Didier

Hello,

Do you have more details about the problems you have? This way we can verify if it is a general problem, or something specific to you.

There is not a specific manual to build AMW from sources.

AMW has only two dependencies:
- org.atl.eclipse.engine
- org.atl.eclipse.km3

But I advise you to check out all the ATL and AM3 projects, to be able to explore all the possibilities of the platform.

So, you should first follow the instructions of the ATL guide to check out ATL and AM3, and then check out all the AMW projects.

Regards,

Marcos.

Hi,

I have a number of problems with the AMW plugin. i'm using the versions of Eclipse, EMF, etc. as mentioned on the AMW website, but basically the plugin doesn't seem to work at all. Before posting all these problems, I'd like to try building AMW from the CVS sources. Is there some kind of manual available on how to do this? I've followed the manual that comes with ATL, but would need some more information on what projects to check out, including dependencies, etc.

Thanks in advance, Didier
