Is this -very promising- project actually used in any Eclipse applications? (one of the main goals of it, I thought)
Is there any activity apart from some cool presentations from time to time?

The project website looks the sparsest among all Eclipse project pages I've seen.
Will there be some real material, and deliverables any time soon?
Are there any roadblocks?

I wish this project did better than the http://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse_Monkey_Overview, for example.  Would be willing to help if someone tells me the story.

Anyhow - thanks for all the great work so far!

here is my problem : I downloaded eclipse 3.4; then I compiled JRuby
from the subversion directory (it ran well), and I installed the RDT
plugin; at the first launch, eclipse told me it has detected the JRuby
installation : all this is good.
but my aim is to use eclipse, JRuby and glimmer (a project whose goal is
to build easily GUIs) (see

but I don't see clearly how to make it run all together.

Testing eclipse interfaces apps is a royal pain. JTestr makes it easy to test java code using jruby, and integrates with most ruby/java testing frameworks like rspec, mocha, junit, testng.

I'm sure there will be other questions that come to mind over the course of time, but I wanted to understand what are some of opinions and neat tips from the folks at glimmer.

This is still in an early stage, but having support for multiple languages from the start would be good. Have a look at /cvsroot/eclipse/e4/org.eclipse.e4.ui/bundles/org.eclipse.e4.core.javascript for how Javascript is hooked up. Code contributions would be welcome! :-)
