[news.eclipse.technology.equinox] Combined automated update and install

I've read the great example at

http://wiki.eclipse.org/Equinox/p2/Adding_Self-Update_to_an_RCP_Application#Headless_Updating_on_Startup

But 

- if I'm reading it correctly - it's missing the ability to install new 
plugins.  It also doesn't seem to handle features.

Could some kind and knowledgeable soul amend the example to include 
handling automated new feature/plugin installs in addition to updates?
