[news.eclipse.technology.equinox] Moving my update site [p2]

Hi all,

I have a p2 repository that a number of people are using.  However, I need
to move it to a new location and I'd like the least amount of disruption for
my users.  What is the best way to do this (and I hope the answer is *not*
send an email to the mailing list).

Here are some ideas that might work, but I haven't tried yet:

1. http redirects through htaccess on the original repo location to the new
repo location.
2. hand edit the content.xml to remove all the IUs, change the name of the
repo to something like "Moved to http://www.newlocation.com/newupdatesite";,
and maybe add a discovery site in the metadata.

Will either of these work?  Or is there a standard way of doing this that I
have missed?
