I am developing a process for application engineering (product derivation)
within a Software Product Line setting.
I have been looking at OpenUP as a starting point. The main advantage
being that OpenUP is a process framework from which particular instances
can be configured then instanciated. However, The OpenUP life-cycle
targets single system development. This is a serious issue from a SPL
perspective, since (technical) coordination is a cornerstone of the
product line approach.
I am wondering, has anyone had experience of adapting or extending OpenUP
in a SPL context or project?
