Hi,

1. Sponsorship for Example Applications
---------------------------------------
What do you think about sponsor ships for Example-Applications.

For sponsors of an "Example Application" there would be e.g. the benefit to be displayed in the Splash-Screen of the application, their logo visible next to the application on the webpage, ... . For devlopers working on those project get they'd get some fund.

I haven't thought about the details and this was just a crazy idea I had last night. Does the Eclipse Foundation allow this kind of thing?

If not the projects at all want to do this but it is allowed by the Foundation? I think there should be rules to follow if there's not a general policy. I don't want to see applications all over full with company icons.
On the one side I like the idea. But I don't like the idea of paying the developers as this could be a possible problem inside the community. Maybe the EEP project could share offers (say: Example App A costs 100$) which is paid to the foundation like a donation but without really paying the developers in case. One disadvantage I see is that company A pays for an example which is implemented by a developer of company B under the name of A.

2. Packagenames
---------------
What are the packages used? Do they have to belong to the eclipse space (org.eclipse.eep....) or can one use a custom one (e.g. at.bestsolution....)?
I really think we should be consistent by having "org.eclipse.eep.*".

3. Build-System
---------------
Does EEP provide the ability to that your Application gets build automatically. I admit the I have never worked with the Eclipse-Buildsystem my own but from what I have heard setting up an pde-headless build isn't very is and with all this submission stuff it would get fairly complex. I listened to the Buckminster-Project and maybe this can be used?
I'd really like to see an automated build for the examples - also for running tests, etc.

4. Webpage: ----------- Does every application get a page where it hosts its screenshot?
as Wayne mentioned. one page per example is a good way.
