I don't want to be the "naming police", but "ECP"? The C could be
confused with Communication, Commerce, or whatever. And the P stands for
Framework, that's a new one. "Component" can mean anything. No offense
but ECP is a useless name that could describe dozens of different things.
IMHO what we need is something really simple, an incubator under Equinox
to support the building of server applications using OSGi with a minimum
of overhead and free from most legacy considerations. Wolfgang Gehner
has coined the term "Rich Server Platform" for this (see
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=132897). What are the
areas of overlap and non-overlap between the two ideas?
