[news.eclipse.technology.ecp] Re: Wicket Runtime for ECP
|
Hello Alexei, welcome to our community!
Great to see more interest toward our project from such brilliant
people! Answering your specific questions:

Igor,
I have developed Wicket (http://wicket.sourceforge.net) runtime for ECP
that I can contribute to the project. But before I do that, I would like
to see the following questions/issues addressed:
1. What type of license do you use for the project?
Two issues here: 1) it can be incompatible with Wicket's license (The
Apache Software License, Version 2.0), 2) I don't want to contribute to
commercial product.
It will be Eclipse Public License. I will verify compatibility issue,
but I'm sure it will be very compatible with Apache Software License.
2. Package names com.exadel.c5 should go away before I can do something
for the project.
Sure we will refactor everything into org.eclipse.ecp.* I do not want to
do it before project will be approved by Eclipse MC, but this is an
issue of few weeks.
3. You don't have public project page. I understand that you are waiting
for approval from Eclipse, but it would be nice to have something
meanwhile.
Good point. What do you think we need apart of this forum? Will project
wiki be enough? I mean I do not want to spend a whole lot of time on
temporary solution, at the same time I agree with you and I think some
very "technical" wiki based pages will be good enough, with all
committees being able to modify the content and add there materials.
Please give me your opinion.
4. Have you decided on the name?
So far it is ECP, Eclipse Components Platform or Enterprise Component
Platform, if you have your opinion, please, tell it to us.
Alexei
Thank you again for your participation!
Igor.
