[news.eclipse.technology.ecp] Re: Wicket Runtime for ECP
|
I'll take a shot at answering some of your questions.
1. AFAIK all new projects, this one included, will be licensed under the
Eclipse Public License. You can read the EPL FAQ here,
http://www.eclipse.org/legal/eplfaq.php.
2. We have been actively trying to decide a project name which would
influence package names. I would be willing to bet your money that the
package names will be something like org.eclipse.ecp.*.
3. Can't answer this one, but Igor may chime in on it.
4. Not that I'm aware of although I have switched to just using ECP and
worry about what the TLA means later.

Igor,
I have developed Wicket (http://wicket.sourceforge.net) runtime for
ECP that I can contribute to the project. But before I do that, I
would like to see the following questions/issues addressed:
1. What type of license do you use for the project?
Two issues here: 1) it can be incompatible with Wicket's license
(The Apache Software License, Version 2.0), 2) I don't want to
contribute to commercial product.
2. Package names com.exadel.c5 should go away before I can do
something for the project.
3. You don't have public project page. I understand that you are
waiting for approval from Eclipse, but it would be nice to have
something meanwhile.
4. Have you decided on the name?
