This project will provide a solution for Java developers using a metadata
driven approach (Annotations and/or XML config). MS Linq is a language
extension offered by MS to address similar issues in .Net. At present
there is no plans for non-Java persistence service implementations. If
anyone sees a need for a Java persistence service that
integrates/cooperates with MS Linq we are very interested in discussing.
Also what will be the relationship with DTP?
There will be no direct dependencies from this runtime project into IDE
side of things. We are very interested in working with WTP and DTP to
ensure the provided persistence services are usable within other projects
as well as addressing developer tooling for usage and configuration of
services within their own applications.
The Dali project (within WTP) is already adding support for JPA that will
be usable with the JPA persistence service.
