[news.eclipse.technology.ecf] Re: Using collaboration

- I don't have "Communications" in the context menus in Navigator or Package Explorer
Is there any additional setup required?

I can only vaguely recall this context menu. What exactly are you attempting to test / try out?

- Trying to use the ecftcp://ecf.eclipse.org:3282/server I get "connection refused?

I think this has been down for some time.

For my personal testing purposes, I usually just run the org.eclipse.ecf.server.generic.app.ServerApplication class located in the org.eclipse.ecf.server.generic bundle. But I have the code in my workspace so this is easy for me to do.

- Setup of a local ECF server
I tried to setup an own ECF server following the wiki http://wiki.eclipse.org/ECF_Servers.
I have created a Equinox directory by installing the launcher and the ECF SDK. After some adjustments to the start procedure I get Equinox up. But the wiki mentions then to use "startApp" to launch the ECF server which fails.

What do you exactly mean when you say "which fails"? Are there error messages or something?

Hello Remy, "startApp" is not accepted as command, just the help text is shown.
