Thanks for the questions.

The Java and Two-Day plugin courses are made avialable at ECESIS,
initially under the CPL licence and soon the EPL license. Even though
Espirity built the material, it grants the use of that material under
CPL/EPL. Looking at the CPL document, you can see the following:

b) each Contributor hereby grants Recipient a non-exclusive, worldwide,
royalty-free copyright license to reproduce, prepare derivative works of,
publicly display, publicly perform, distribute and sublicense the
Contribution of such Contributor, if any, and such derivative works, in
source code and object code form.

a) each Contributor hereby grants Recipient a non-exclusive, worldwide,
royalty-free patent license under Licensed Patents to make, use, sell,
offer to sell, import and otherwise transfer the Contribution of such
Contributor, if any, in source code and object code form

I am not a lawyer, but as Bjorn mentioned in an earlier email you can take
the material, use it and extend it any way you want. This holds for all
Eclipse work, not just for the ECESIS project. It would be good if your
extensions could make their way back to the ECESIS site also under CPL/EPL
so that others can benefit from the work. A French translation of the work
would be a great addition and I would like to be involved with you on the
committer side of things to make that happen.

I will release a new version of the Java course next week that has the
material updated to 3.0, so that might be a good place for you to start.

The format point is a good questions too and I will take that under
consideration. As a starting point I think we should make the material
available in different formats. No matter which one you choose, somebody
always wants a different one. Therefore, the best can we do is give people
a choice.
