Nicholas,

Yes, the newsgroup is working.  However I apologize - the committers have 
not been as attentive to the newsgroup as we should be.  Work has been 
progressing on a couple of fronts on ALF:  There have been a stream of 
improvments to the Event Manager, and we are currently refactoring the 
ALFSSOCommon library as we extend support based on feedback received from 
use in the real world.

I will monitor the newsgroup more frequently in the future.
