ALF Weekly Project Meeting
29-Mar-2007
Eclipse Review Process
a.. 02/08/07 - Got response from Bjorn who gave his approval to hold a
release review. Brian is going to follow-up with Bjorn on a question on
whether we'll call this release .6, release .7 or milestone .7 for RC 1.
Brian will be scheduling this with Anne Jacko (Eclipse). 02/15/07 - Release
Reviews were not shown for the incubation phase for Eclipse documentation.
Brian is continuing some discussion with Bjorn before he contacts Anne Jacko
to schedule the Review meeting.
b.. 03/02/07 - Brian is hoping to have further discussions next week at
EclipseCon. Brian has some questions about the current guidelines for
Requirements Review as posted on the Eclipse site.
c.. 03/09/07 - Brian held two successful sessions at EclipseCon. The
joint session with Higgins went very well. He also spoke to Bjorn about the
review process and we will proceed with plans to hold a review on .8
Milestone (Release Candidate 1.0). Higgins will also be providing some
documentation for their use of LDAP based on the things we learned preparing
the demo.
d.. 3/29/07 - Kim and Brian have discussed the differences between
Release Review and Promotion Review. We'll be targeting a Release Review
for our .8 Milestone. Brian expects to schedule this once we have
sufficient unit tests in place for ALF SSO. Cognizant resources are
currently scheduled to write J-unit tests. Brian is looking again at a tool
that will help generate the majority of these tests. We'll meet early next
so we can discuss our overall strategy and timelines to get these tests in
place.
Other:
a.. 3/29/07 - Updated copy of Higgins STS should be available next week.
Brian will pick this up and begin reviewing it.
b.. 3/29/07 - We have received some fixes for Axis 2 which appeared to
make RPC literal work, but when we applied them, there's still a problem.
Tim is working on this. We have used document literal for T02 so QA can
begin testing. These problems have the potential of causing us to miss our
Feature Complete and internal GA dates.
c.. All pieces for SSO have been included in T02. We're looking at
incorporating the demo into the turnover process for T03.
d.. We need to put in a request to have approval to include Axis 2,
JDOM, and Open SAML 1.1 in our downloads. Tim and Brian will work this.
01/18/07 - no progress yet. 01/29/07 - no formal progress, but Brian is
going through Open SAML right now. Our issue here is to ensure that we can
build on these and refer to them. Brian says that this really effects our
products such as TT-Vail more than releasing ALF 1.0. We'll begin building
with Axis 2 for Milestone .8. 02/08/07 - Tim submitted requests for Axis 2
and JDOM. Brian will submit a request for Open SAML. 02/15/07 - Brian is
still going through source code in preparation for submitting the Open SAML
request. 03/02/07 - no action to date on Open SAML. Tim got verification
on receipt of his requests for Axis 2 and JDOM, but not further information
to date. 03/09/07 - Brian is still working on Open SAML before he makes
this submission.
e.. When can REG start including Event Manager and SSO into the
Serena-Vail installer so it's available for use? Tim will follow-up with
Eric Reiners to see what they need, then we can work to make this available.
02/15/07 - REG is starting to work on this with goal to have ALF pieces
included in Vail T07 at the end of March. Brian is starting to commit SSO
code to Eclipse CVS. 03/02/07 - all current SSO code has been committed to
CVS. Brian is tracking one JAR file. 03/09/07 - Tim is working with Kery
on some dependencies so this can be built.
f.. Tim is working on the ALF Event Manager port to Axis2 for a build
next week. He is also working on how the install pieces will work together.
Decisions
a.. Change Control to move our internal Release Candidate completion
date from 06-Apr-2007 to 09-May-2007 has been completed.
