We at Skyway have an SDK update site that is intended to make it easy
for people to get all of the dependencies required to build our
open-source projects. We have lots of dependencies on Eclipse projects
like EMF, JET, GMF, WST, etc. and building up a dev environment can be a
pain, so this update site is supposed to make things easier.
Recently, however, it has started failing. And when it fails, it hangs
Eclipse in the Update Manager (this is Eclipse 3.3 Europa, we don't yet
run on 3.4).

If you start with the Europa RCP/plugin developers package, hit that
update site, and do the "expand all tree nodes and then Select Required"
dance, Eclipse will hang indefinitely.
We only started getting reports of this when Ganymede went live, so I
suspect it has something to do with the various affiliate sites (EMF,
WST, etc.) now including the Ganymede releases. But I'm not sure.
Can anyone provide any insight into what might be causing the problem?
