[news.eclipse.platform] Re: Focus Problems

Hi,

My reason is that it's getting hard and really heavy to follow all threads spreading over more than one newsgroup.

These threads have the potention to get split up and the information from one thread segmented on multiple forums.

At least setting the mail-header appropriately would be the minimum I'd expect someone to care about so that all answers get to the appropriate forum. I sometimes have the feeling that people don't follow the guidelines from former days where you searched the forum a bit before you posted a question.

If people would do that I'd say one could easily find out to which forum they have to post to. For me crossposting most of the times tells me that one hasn't done the above. Why should I/someoneelse then bother to answer his/her question? I think some guys out there are missusing newsgroups to let others solve problem they could have solved their own IF they only booted their brain :-)

I disagree with you and these others that agree with you. Many just
follow the tide of yelling at people that 'cross post' but have no idea
why people do not like that.

What is your reason?

Hi,

Sorry I don't share this opinion and as I can see from many other
postings others agree with me [1].

Please stop crossposting on 3 forums. 1 is enough. In your case you
can it best fits to platform.ui, I'd say.

I dont see a problem with posting to 3 forums so long as the repliers
can see that its posted on 3 forums. And we can. The problem is when
folks do it individually.
