I can imagine that there are some use cases in RCP applications where 
such a behaviuor is needed.

Making sure that the old plugins are removed is the main reason for us 
to ship our product per installer only.

It would be nice to have this feature in the Update Manager. Maybe 
sometimes installers become obsolete.
