Thanks for the fast respons Alex.
Unfortunately I misunderstood my colleague. He didn't mean to remove the
plugins, but in the already described scenario plugin c0.1 should be
disabled after the update. He claims that it isn't and due to that reason
errors do occure, because extension points are loaded which should not be
loaded.

There isn't a mechanism to allow Update Manager to remove unrequired
plugins at this time.
