I'm no expert, but I'd probably try that or JRE 1.4.2 (or are they not 
making those for Vista?). I'd also scour Bugzilla for relevant bugs, 
there seems to be quite a few reports of crashes. Maybe also try the 
newest I (Integration) or M (Milestone) build if you aren't already?
