Hello All,
newbie question: I am trying to come to grips with Eclipse (3.0 M6) -- and
like it already ;-)
But I ran into a snag with installing the examples (from Eclipse.org):
First I tried to install them via the Update Manager, but there are only
version 2.x things listed there (and selecting them anyway produces --
appropriately I suppose -- a message that this is invalid for my
configuration).
So I tried manual installation as per Help text (Help > Platform Plugin
Developer Guide > Examples Guide > Installing the examples):
I shut down Eclipse, downloaded the examples file
(eclipse-examples-3.0M6-win32.zip), and extracted (with "Use folder names"
on! :-) the ZIP manually to the Eclipse root directory. No problem there.
However, after re-starting Eclipse, the examples are not recognized:
contrary to what the Help promises, the Workbench does _not_ report that
new updates have been detected for me to accept, and there is _no_ "Example"
menu entry under File > New > Example .
What am I missing here? Is the help text obsolete for 3.0 ?
Thanks in advance for any tips!
Cheers,
Martin
