I apologize -- the API works like a champ -- my error coding... (put 
File.separator+"XYZ" in getProperty call rather than outside...).  Dumb 
(as bad as putting a semicolon at the end of the for loop statement...).

Thanks for providing clarity.  And, for the search engine, I of course 
meant DirectoryDialog
