[news.eclipse.platform.swt] Re: EC bug, check: Biggest Eclipse bug ever about Java? - example from bug

Mr Hama,

I have a thought.

Are you trying to change files on a server, or are these files all local to your machine? Are the files PHP files that are resident in your server?

To confirm if Eclipse has changed your local copy, you could make your changes, and then right-click on the file in the "Project Explorer" and select "Open With->System Editor".

Now you know the exact problem?

No. What happens if you do:

File New -> Text File -> Type "Hello Eclipse Bug" -> Save as smth. -> Remove "Bug" -> Save again -> Close the file-> Reopen it->What do you see?

I see: "Hello Eclipse Bug" File size don't changed after delete... this is the bug...

Other try:

I do remove "Eclipse " from "Hello Eclipse Bug" and save:

What now I see:

"Hello Bugipse Bug"
File size don't changed again after delete... this is the bug...

Please give as much detail about your environment as possible: operating system and version, file system, Eclipse version, Java version that Eclipse is running in (check it using the Help > About > Configuration Details), etc. As much detail as possible.
As I've said before, obviously this is something that is unique to your setup, because it would have been reported long before if it were a common problem; clearly this would not be acceptable behavior and no-one could live with it if it were happening to anyone else.

Also, I understand that English is not your native language, but we are having a very difficult time understanding your messages. Is there anyone you could get to help translate so that the communication is more efficient?

Eric
