Yes it will the current prototype use GWT + DOJO.

Yes it will, take a look at the talk Steven and Silenio gave at the 
EclipseCon, the announcement M$ made to support the SWT team with human 
resources to get a WPF-port out of the doors.

New things they consider adding are e.g. Animation and stuff like this
