I doubt that a bug report will help but you could file one.

IMHO you should fake this yourself using Images (see 
http://tom-eclipse-dev.blogspot.com/2007/01/tableviewers-and-nativelooking.html). 
  In 3.4 it is even possible to use a native CheckBoxCellEditor as 
outlined in 
http://dev.eclipse.org/viewcvs/index.cgi/org.eclipse.jface.snippets/Eclipse%20JFace%20Snippets/org/eclipse/jface/snippets/viewers/Snippet056BooleanCellEditor.java?view=markup
