I'd say if you need these things you could request this for a custom
drawn table from nebula if not already available in one of them
http://www.eclipse.org/nebula/

Because we will provide ViewerSupport with 3.3 for Nebula-Grid and maybe
other Table/Tree based widgets this might be a possibility for you.
